This was reported by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. According to the initiative, it is proposed to increase the fee for obtaining Russian citizenship from 4,200 to 50,000 rubles. The fee for a temporary residence permit may rise from 1,900 to 15,000 rubles, and for a residence permit from 6,000 to 30,000 rubles. It is also planned to raise the fee for issuing permits to attract foreign workers to 15,000 rubles for each specialist. According to the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the changes are aimed at "improving migration policy," bringing order to this area, and increasing budget revenues. It is expected that additional revenues could amount to about 15 billion rubles per year. The Chairman of the State Duma noted that the parliament is currently considering another 10 initiatives related to migration regulation. In addition, since 2024, 22 federal laws in this area have already been adopted. Volodin also emphasized that those wishing to obtain Russian citizenship must know the Russian language, comply with the laws of the country, and respect its traditions, culture, and history.
