In the "Big Nest," there are currently several small patients with various injuries and illnesses. Each has its own story: a bunny has a broken spine, a squirrel was injured after an encounter with a cat, a baby crow got its paw tangled in the nest, another squirrel has a wound and eye inflammation (ash got into its eyes), and a bunny is lagging in growth and weight gain due to improper feeding.
To care for the young ones, the center needs not just money, but specific items. On the list are antibiotics, eye drops and gels for inflammation, chlorhexidine, self-adhesive bandages, diapers, and gloves. The food is also strictly defined: a special puppy milk replacer from a well-known brand (volunteers clarify that only this one is suitable), dairy-free baby cereals for squirrels, and meat products for the baby crow.
Additionally, two squirrels need to be seen by an ophthalmologist, and all the charges need to be treated for fleas.
