Seven wildfires occurred in the Kirov region.

      At the meeting, Governor Alexander Sokolov reported that in 2026, there were seven landscape fires in the Kirov region. The total area affected is small — just over three hectares. The fire did not reach populated areas. According to Sokolov, last year there were 24 landscape fires, with a total area of 78 hectares. This is 3.5 times more in number and over 20 times more in area than now. The governor instructed his subordinates not to reduce the intensity of preventive work to prevent new fires, especially since a summer-like heat is expected in the coming days, and people will be heading out of town in large numbers.
