In Kirov, an agricultural enterprise dumped manure into the Bystritsa.
In the Kirov region, an agricultural enterprise has been suspected of violating the rules for handling by-products of animal husbandry. This concerns a situation in the Kumen district, where manure slurry, according to inspection data, may have entered the lands of the settlement and the Bystritsa River.
As reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Kirov region, Udmurtia, and Perm Krai, a report about the discharge of manure masses was received from Rosprirodnadzor following a complaint from a local resident.
On April 27, specialists went to the site and conducted an inspection of the area, taking soil samples. According to the agency, a layer of fertile soil was found to be covered with manure slurry from cattle over an area of about 0.05 hectares on the agricultural land. It is also noted that the contamination had previously been washed away by melting waters towards the settlements and the Bystritsa River.
The Rosselkhoznadzor reported that the enterprise violated the requirements for handling by-products of animal husbandry. In particular, such substances should not lead to land degradation and pollution of water bodies.
On May 7, the agricultural enterprise was warned about the inadmissibility of violations and was asked to address the identified issues.
