Russians aged 25–45 remain the main borrowers.
According to the United Credit Bureau, this category accounted for almost 59% of all loans issued and more than 66% of their total volume. In second place are borrowers aged 45-65 years: about a quarter in both quantity and amounts. Young people under 25 accounted for just over 13% of loans, but in monetary terms, their share is significantly lower—about 6%. Russians over 65 take out loans the least frequently. The most active borrowers are men aged 25-45, who accounted for more than a third of the total amount of funds issued. At the same time, women overall took out more loans than men, although the amounts of their loans were lower. The most sought-after product remains cash loans. Credit cards are also popular, while mortgages and auto loans occupy a significantly smaller share. Young borrowers under 25 most often take out credit cards, but their popularity has decreased over the year. Meanwhile, interest in cash loans has increased. In the age group of 25-45 years, the demand for cash loans has grown, while interest in credit cards has decreased. Borrowers aged 45-65 also increasingly choose cash loans, with banks offering them larger amounts than the market average. Overall, banks are most willing to issue large loans to middle-aged borrowers—this category is considered the most reliable.
