A resident of Sosnovka transferred over 8.5 million to a stranger from a messenger.
In the Vyatskopolyansky district police, a criminal case is being investigated regarding the theft of nearly 9 million rubles from a local resident. The victim, a resident of the city of Sosnovka, started communicating in a messenger with a stranger a month and a half ago. The stranger offered a profitable scheme: to properly invest in currency and cryptocurrency trading to quickly multiply savings. The only thing required from the man was to send money according to the details dictated by the interlocutor.
The promised income never materialized. At some point, the resident of the Vyatskopolyansky district decided to independently research reviews and experiences of other users online — and realized that he had become a victim of fraud. After that, he contacted the police.
The total amount of transferred funds was 8 million 681 thousand rubles.
An investigator from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Vyatskopolyansky" has initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds: do not transfer money to strangers, no matter who they claim to be. Instant large earnings on the internet are a myth. Even stock trading and cryptocurrencies require high qualifications, and trusting your funds to random interlocutors online is extremely unwise. 15 thousand euros and antiques worth 5 million rubles: what a call from the "clinic" cost a Kirov resident. The prosecutor's office is recovering 313 thousand from a pensioner through the court, which went to the accounts of droppers. Fraudsters forced Kirov pensioners to transfer money to each other.
