Pension gap: in Chukotka, people receive more than twice as much as in Dagestan.
The Social Fund of Russia has published data on regional pension provision indicators, revealing a colossal imbalance. It turned out that the average pension of a resident of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is more than twice that of a pensioner from Dagestan. The highest level in the country, according to official statistics, is recorded in the Far East — there, elderly people receive an average of about 42,000 rubles. At the opposite end of the ranking is the North Caucasus: in the Republic of Dagestan, this amount barely reaches 18,600 rubles. As a result, the difference between the leader and the outsider amounted to 23,400 rubles, reports the publication "Izvestia." Overall in Russia, the average pension now exceeds the threshold of 25,000 rubles. This means that residents of many central regions receive an amount close to the average, while northerners live with a substantial increase, and residents of southern republics are forced to settle for much more modest sums. Meanwhile, in the State Duma, they reminded about the timelines for further changes. Deputy Svetlana Bessarab clarified that starting from August 1 of this year, indexing will only affect social pensions. The parliamentarian also emphasized that no extraordinary or additional increases in payments for other categories of pensioners are expected in the near future.
