Kirov residents took to the streets on May Day.
Theater Square quickly filled with flags — held by representatives of trade unions and enterprises. In the crowd, one could notice employees from "Vodokanal," "Avitek," "Leps," "Gazprom," education unions, agricultural workers, and other associations. A separate column was present from the committee of families of the soldiers of the Fatherland from the Kirov region.
People were chatting among themselves, some were photographing the events, and children were holding balloons. Participants actively waved flags, reacting to what was happening on stage, but overall the atmosphere remained calm, without any pronounced excitement.
First, representatives of the trade unions spoke to those gathered — they congratulated the people of Kirov on the holiday. Then the concert program began: creative groups performed on stage, and songs were sung. There were no additional activities or interactions in the square.
Earlier, a May Day procession also took place in the city, in which, according to official data, thousands of people participated.
Red May Day
A separate rally in honor of May Day was organized by Kirov communists: the alley of Oktyabrsky Avenue near the Kirov monument briefly turned red. The rally was small, but as noted by the main Kirov communist Sergey Mamaev, the number of supporters of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in Kirov is growing every year, and more people are attending the traditional May Day rally.
By the way, the Kirov communists did not immediately manage to "secure" the right to hold a procession and rally. Sergey Pavlinovich noted that at first they were not allowed to have a "red procession," but they eventually managed to obtain permission for a peaceful demonstration.
"Today there are many problems that can be solved, but they are not being addressed. Today we only have holidays. Huge amounts of money are spent on holidays. But minimal funds are allocated for social issues and other matters that need to be addressed today. For example, Sabantuy, which was held in Vtyaskie Polyany. They built 8 kilometers of road in a clean field that leads nowhere. But there is Suvodeny in the Orichevsky district, and there is the village of Donaurovo in the Kilmizsky district — there the road is completely impassable, even an ambulance cannot pass in spring and autumn. And no one is monitoring this, no one pays attention. The residents of Donaurovo "uprising," then 5 million rubles were allocated for the road, but it was not enough. Now, heavy trucks have once again destroyed the road, and it has become impassable. We do not have a politician or a manager in the Kirov region, which is why we have so many problems that have arisen and are practically not being solved," noted Sergey Mamaev.
Upon reaching the monument to S.M. Kirov, the communists began their rally, during which it was stated that this May Day is taking place in difficult times, "when the world is once again faced with the monstrous aggression of Western imperialism, which has decided to suffocate everyone who disagrees with living by its savage laws."
After that, there were speeches from the "leadership" of Kirov communists. In them, they reiterated their principles and expressed their readiness to fight for the rights of workers.
