The government has approved the list of critically important medicines.
The Chairman of the Government, Mikhail Mishustin, signed an order regarding a new list of strategically important medicinal products. The document was published on the government website.
The list includes 206 items: essential drugs, vaccines from the national vaccination calendar, medications for particularly dangerous and socially significant diseases, blood products, infusion solutions, and narcotic analgesics.
All these medicines must be fully produced in Russia, and their release will be supported by the government. In state procurement, these drugs will be given priority. The government hopes that this will strengthen the country's medicinal independence, prevent disruptions in supplies to hospitals and pharmacies, and also help with pharmaceutical exports.
The list was prepared by an interdepartmental commission involving the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, and other agencies. The basis was new criteria that the government approved back in March 2026.
"We will continue to increase the share of our own developments, expand the capabilities of the domestic pharmaceutical industry to eliminate disruptions in the supply of medications to pharmacies and hospitals, and strengthen our technological sovereignty. The quality of life for people across the country depends on this," Mishustin stated at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.
