"Let's speak in Russian": Beresnev stated that he does not know the word "relevance"
Today, April 24, the issue of amending the Charter of the Kirov Region was discussed at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly. The bill outlines how the Legislative Assembly will operate in the future. Among other things, it states that at the first meeting, deputies have the right to independently determine the type and method of voting for the election of the chairman and his deputies. Deputy Vyacheslav Tsaryuk opposed the initiative. In his opinion, the current version of the Charter provides exclusively for secret voting. If the bill is adopted, deputies will be able to conduct both secret and open voting. Tsaryuk believes that giving them such a choice will lead to a decrease in the level of relevance and increase pressure when choosing a candidate if the voting is conducted openly. He added that factions, particularly the largest one, make a unified decision on various issues. If the voting is open, the candidate for whom there is a preliminary decision will have an advantage over others. "Only secret voting will ensure a truly honest result," Tsaryuk said. Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Roman Beresnev, ignoring his colleague's arguments, suddenly latched onto one of the words mentioned: "About relevance... let's speak Russian, okay? Because I don't know what that is. Look, I'm being prompted, but I don't know. I try to express myself in Russian and suggest everyone do the same." For some reason, Beresnev did not express outrage about other words in Tsaryuk's speech that have non-Slavic origins. He hurried to announce the voting, during which the bill was supported. Let us remind you that earlier Beresnev "became famous" for another statement. At the last meeting of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Albert Bikaluk expressed the opinion that there is a poor attitude towards business in the region, which is why "cucumbers from Orichi are more expensive than pineapples and bananas from Africa." Beresnev countered that "cucumbers from Orichi are more expensive because they are significantly better quality and tastier than any fruits from Africa."
