Today, April 24, at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly, draft laws were considered to reclassify four plots of agricultural land into industrial land. They are located in the Slobodsky district. All the plots are private, with one covering 13 hectares and the others two hectares each. One is intended for brick production, while the others will be used for woodworking.
Deputy Albert Bikalyuk opposed the reclassification. "What, do we have no other land? In my opinion, we have already forgotten about vegetable growing; we will bring cucumbers and tomatoes from Uzbekistan. And we are reclassifying land." The Chairman of the Government, Mikhail Sandalov, responded: "In general, we have a high demand for land use. We are not using it; it is overgrowing. And when someone's initiative arises for land use, we try to support it. Moreover, we even pay extra for land use."
During the voting, 36 deputies supported the initiative. Two opposed it, and one abstained.
