Tomorrow, April 22, a large-scale renovation of the runway will begin at Kirov's Pobedilovo airport. As previously reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Kirov Region, the work will last until June 7, 2026. During this time, the airport will completely stop accepting and dispatching aircraft. The online display board of Pobedilovo airport is formally still operational, but currently, when trying to view flights for "arrivals" and "departures" for tomorrow, it only shows a white screen. There is no information about delays or cancellations — there is simply no basis for it, as no aircraft will arrive or depart. On the "Pobeda" website, it is also no longer possible to purchase tickets from Kirov or to Kirov for tomorrow's date: the corresponding flights are not available for sale.

It is worth noting that the runway repairs at Pobedilovo will cost the federal budget more than 2 billion rubles. The funds are allocated as part of the national project "Efficient Transport System." The work is planned to be conducted around the clock to meet the record deadline of 45 days. By June 7, the airport is expected to resume full operations. Authorities promise to launch additional trains during the airport's closure so that residents of Kirov can travel to other cities by rail. Earlier, Newsler.ru reported on how Kirov residents can now reach major cities, how long it will take, and how much it will cost. More details here.
