The FAS warned retailers against raising prices ahead of the "shashlik season."
Federal antimonopoly officials have drawn the attention of market participants to the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases for beef, pork, lamb, chicken meat, and other food products that are in high demand from consumers during holiday periods, particularly during the May holidays.
"The service warns of the obligation to strictly comply with the requirements of antimonopoly legislation. If signs of unfair practices are detected, the agency will take responsive measures," the FAS of Russia reported.
Antimonopoly officials also recommended that retail chains, in the event of a decrease in wholesale prices from suppliers of these goods, pass this on to the end consumers.
