"Rusty pipes above their heads": Residents of Rechny talk about the school they are afraid to attend

      According to residents, after the renovation was completed, rusty pipes were left in the school's attic, and the installation of the roof railing was never finished. As a result, ice blocks are accumulating at the corners of the building, and the roof itself is not being cleared of snow. In 2022, the village was visited by Governor Alexander Sokolov, but according to the applicants, the situation has not changed. The rusty pipe above the students' heads was removed only after an appeal to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

      Residents also point out other problems: the school grounds are cluttered, there is an old crumbling shooting range and structures from which bricks are falling. The only playground is separated from the school by a heating main, and the crossings over it, according to parents, are in an unreliable condition. In winter, the applicants claim that due to these communications, emergency vehicles cannot access the school in case of an accident.

      Earlier, we reported that the Kumen District Court was considering a criminal case of fraud during the overhaul of roofs of apartment buildings in the village of Rechnoi (details in our article). However, residents believe that similar safety issues remain at the school. People do not know what to do in this situation and hope for attention to the problem.
