The beaches of the Krasnodar region will open this year after being cleaned of fuel oil.
According to RIA Novosti, all beaches in the Krasnodar region, where oil spills previously occurred, are planned to be opened in 2026. This was stated by the governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratiev, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the regional head, the situation has stabilized thanks to measures for cleaning the coastline and control from federal authorities. In particular, the contaminated areas are being replaced with a layer of sand up to 50 centimeters deep. According to Rospotrebnadzor, such beaches can already be used.
Kondratiev noted that he expects all beaches, including the resorts of Anapa, to be opened by the start of the season. The president clarified whether all coastal areas would be able to operate, to which Kondratiev responded affirmatively.
Recall that the oil product spill occurred in December 2024 after the sinking of tankers. At that time, the pollution affected more than 50 kilometers of the coastline. In 2025, some beaches remained closed due to non-compliance with sanitary requirements.
