In the Kirov region, fraudsters have begun to "check" businesses on behalf of the labor inspectorate.
Recently, there has been an increase in cases in the region where controlled individuals have received suspicious notifications allegedly from the State Labor Inspection. As reported in the official press release of the agency, fraudsters are copying forms, using fake details, and even quoting legal norms to create the illusion of a real inspection.
Most often, the letters mention "identified signs of shadow employment," discrepancies in reporting, or violations of labor legislation. The aim of the criminals is to psychologically influence the recipient and obtain confidential documents from them.
The Labor Inspection emphasizes three main markers of authenticity:
A QR code is mandatory. Any decision to conduct a control event must contain a QR code that leads to a record in the Unified Register of Control (Supervisory) Activities. If there is no code, it is almost a 100% sign of a forgery.
Approved forms. Documents from the inspection are formatted according to standard templates established by the order of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia No. 151 dated March 31, 2021. Any deviation from them is a reason to be cautious.
The register exists. All planned and unscheduled inspections, as well as most official requests, should be reflected in the Unified Register of Control (Supervisory) Activities.
At the same time, the agency clarifies: sometimes information and explanations can be requested without a separate decision — for example, during an investigation of an accident, in a case of administrative offense, or as part of data reliability assessment. However, even in these cases, it is recommended to double-check the information through official communication channels.
If the received notification raises doubts, the State Labor Inspection of the Kirov Region advises not to respond to the demands of fraudsters, but to immediately call verified numbers: 8 (8332) 63-05-59 (reception) or +7 922 911-84-35 (hotline).
Experts remind: under no circumstances should you send documents or click on suspicious links from such letters. It is better to spend five minutes on a call than to become a victim of a fraudulent scheme.
