Corruption in the Kirov region: almost every third resident no longer considers it a problem.
The government of the Kirov region has published the results of the annual survey dedicated to assessing the level of corruption and the effectiveness of the fight against it. The study, which covered 600 respondents, showed that public opinion has undergone significant changes for the better over the year.
The main conclusion of sociologists: the share of residents who consider the level of corruption in the region to be low jumped from 20.8% in 2024 to 30.3% in 2025. In other words, almost every third Kirov resident today does not see this phenomenon as a serious threat. Positive sentiments are also shared by business representatives — 30% of entrepreneurs noted a decrease in corruption at the regional level, while a year earlier, only 24.6% felt this way.
The dynamics of trust in the authorities looks even more eloquent. As reported by the press service of the regional government, almost half of the respondents (48.5%) are confident that the governor not only wants to but can actually fight corruption. For comparison: in 2024, only 35.4% thought so. The overall assessment of the intensity of anti-corruption work by officials has also increased — 42.4% rated it as high or very high (compared to 32.8% a year ago).
The data was presented at a meeting of the relevant commission for combating corruption. The regional government described the survey results as evidence of consistent and effective work, noting that Kirov residents are becoming noticeably more optimistic in their assessments. The only thing that remains outside the report is the opinion of the other 70% of citizens, who still tend not to consider the corruption situation to be favorable.
