A new holiday is being introduced in the Kirov region.
As the speaker Natalia Bastrikova explained, the new holiday is intended to emphasize the role of children's and youth organizations in the upbringing of the younger generation. According to her, unlike the already existing Children's Day, the new date will focus specifically on the activities of organizations and movements that contribute to the development of personality, the formation of citizenship, patriotism, and social activity. Today, in the Kirov region, about 78 thousand children participate in various children's organizations such as "Movement of the First", "Yunarmiya", "Eagles of Russia", as well as squads of young traffic inspectors and others. It is noted that thematic events related to the history of the children's movement are held annually on May 19. Granting official status to this date, according to the authors of the bill, will allow for the unification of various organizations, the creation of a sustainable tradition, and additional encouragement for active participants. It is emphasized that the introduction of a new commemorative date will not require additional budget expenditures. The discussion of the bill took place without comments. The committee recommended its adoption in two readings.
