According to the information from the department, by the end of the year, the total area of urban land in the region amounted to 84.9 thousand hectares, of which 27 thousand were built-up. Green spaces occupy 19% of urban territories. In terms of the share of greened land, Kirov region ranks 10th among the regions of the Volga Federal District. Parks, gardens, squares, and boulevards make up 14% of all green areas. The street road network of cities and urban-type settlements totals 3,636 km. Of these, 56% (just over half) are paved roads. Lighting is installed on 2,964 km, which constitutes 82% of the total length of streets. In this indicator, the region ranks 7th in the Volga Federal District. By the end of the year, there were 200 bridges and overpasses in urban settlements of the region. Of these, 13 do not provide an adequate level of traffic safety. The area of streets and passages that are cleaned by special machines in winter and summer amounted to 26.7 million square meters. A total of 585 trucks, dump trucks, and special vehicles for garbage and snow removal were involved in the cleaning.
