Kirov residents were reminded of railway safety rules.
The railway is a high-risk area where failure to follow safety rules can lead to serious injury or death. The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Kirov Region noted that electric shock remains one of the main threats to people at railway facilities.
To prevent accidents, it is prohibited to:
- approach wires and the overhead contact line closer than two meters;
- climb onto the roofs of railcars and locomotives;
- touch electrical equipment directly or through objects;
- climb onto the roofs of buildings and metal structures under the wires;
- come closer than eight meters to sagging or broken wires;
- throw any objects onto the wires;
- open the doors of electrical installations.
The press service stressed that the main causes of railway tragedies are carelessness and the dangerous pastime of "train surfing." Residents of the region are advised to be attentive and responsible to protect their own lives and health and those of their loved ones.
