In Russia, the standard for housing costs has risen: a "square" was valued at 116,000 rubles.
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia has set a new standard cost per square meter of housing for the first half of 2026. The price will now be over 116.4 thousand rubles, which is 2% higher than in the second half of 2025, when the figure stood at 113.7 thousand rubles.
The ministry also approved the average market value of housing by region for the first quarter of 2026. The highest figures were recorded in Chukotka — 265 thousand rubles per square meter, in Moscow — almost 202 thousand rubles, and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (184.6 thousand rubles), Primorsky Krai (178.1 thousand rubles) and Kamchatka Krai (175.8 thousand rubles).
According to the ministry, the lowest housing costs were recorded in Kabardino-Balkaria (55.5 thousand rubles) and Ingushetia (59.5 thousand rubles).
These standards are used when calculating social payments to citizens for the purchase or construction of housing funded by the federal budget.
