Only 36% of Kirov residents feel the New Year's spirit.
In Kirov, only 36% of residents felt a New Year’s spirit. At the same time, 40% admitted they don’t feel the holiday at all, and another 15% fake it for their family so as “not to spoil the atmosphere.”
Women are generally more positive than men: 41% of women feel the New Year’s spirit, while among men it’s only 31%. Men are more likely to admit they pretend the holiday exists — 19% compared with 12% of women.
Young people are most likely to believe in a miracle: among respondents under 35, 42% are in the mood, while among those older it’s only 30%. People over 35 are noticeably more likely to say openly that they feel no sense of anticipation.
Income also affects the holiday atmosphere: residents of Kirov who earn 150,000 rubles or more are more likely to report that they either already feel the New Year or artificially create a New Year atmosphere for their loved ones than those who earn less.
