The renovated areas of Kirov Park were declared safe.

      As reported by the Kirov city administration, today a special commission inspected the quality of the work carried out under the "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment" project in the park named after Kirov. This year the fourth and final stage of the park's improvement was completed. A new children's playground and areas for yoga and dog walking were added on the grounds; benches, trash bins, outdoor lighting fixtures, LED bollards, video surveillance cameras and a public-address system were installed. In addition, the contractor planted trees, shrubs and perennial flowers. Following the inspection, the commission declared the renovated spaces in the park named after Kirov safe and fully ready for use. Also this year improvement works were carried out on Theatre Square — around the Lenin monument. Earlier, on December 2, we reported on Kirov residents' outrage over tree felling in the park named after Kirov along Gorky Street. The city administration then explained that an assessment of the green spaces had been carried out in the summer, during which 23 hazardous trees were identified. According to the landscaping directorate, some of them posed a threat to park visitors as they could fall during strong winds.
