The hotels and sanatoriums in Kirov Oblast are completely empty.

      The number of people accommodated in collective accommodation facilities in Kirov Oblast in 2025 essentially remained at last year’s level. According to official statistics, from January–October 2025 some 377.9 thousand people stayed in the region’s hotels, sanatoriums and similar establishments.

      For comparison, 378.4 thousand people were accommodated in Kirov Oblast over the same period in 2024. Thus, over the year the indicator showed no growth and even declined slightly within the margin of statistical error.

      For the whole of 2024, 455.7 thousand people used the region’s collective accommodation facilities. However, operational data for 2025 indicate no positive trend in the occupancy of the hotel and sanatorium stock.

      Statistics on collective accommodation facilities are considered one of the key indicators of the state of the tourism industry, since they reflect the actual number of people who used paid accommodation. A lack of growth in this indicator generally signals stagnation in tourist demand and a weak influx of new visitors.

      Against this backdrop, Kirov Oblast also does not rank highly in federal assessments of tourism development. In the Index of Tourist Attractiveness of the Regions of Russia — 2025 the region scored 0.37 points and remained in the group of regions with average scores.
