      Today, December 26, the Bank of Russia issued a new 1,000-ruble banknote into circulation. This was reported by the regulator's press service.

      The new note has enhanced security features. It is dedicated to Nizhny Novgorod and the Volga Federal District. It depicts the Nikolskaya Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, the Saratov automobile bridge, the Meteor-120R vessel, and the Palace of Farmers in Kazan. The banknote is rendered in a turquoise color scheme.

      The banknote also features a QR code linking to the Bank of Russia’s website with information about its design and security features. It will circulate on an equal footing with the 1997-series banknotes.
