Kirov residents are being asked to move cars parked in snow-clearing areas.
Streets in Kirov continue to be cleared of snow, but contractors are increasingly working on a "make-do" basis: parked cars prevent the machinery from reaching the snowdrifts. According to municipal services, about 6,000 cubic meters of snow are removed from the roads daily, but some streets remain inaccessible because they are tightly packed with cars.
The GDMS explained that problems arise both day and night—especially on secondary streets where cars are parked in a continuous line along the sidewalks. As a result, the specialized equipment cannot sweep the roadway, treat it with anti-icing and friction materials, or form snow banks for removal to disposal sites.
Last night, 130 machines and 71 manual workers took part in the operations. During the day, 97 machines and 111 staff members work on the city's streets. Residents are asked to watch for announcements and snow removal schedules.
