      As ROMIR notes, the absence of the usual decline in the indicator in November may indicate a change in consumer behavior. According to Anastasia Sidorina, ROMIR's director of client relations for FMCG and retail, if in 2023 the high level of free funds was linked to previously accumulated stockpiles, and in 2024 there was a consumer boom, then in 2025 the situation looks different.

      "The stabilization of the share of free money at 17.2% is occurring against the backdrop of a decline in real demand. The pre-New Year frenzy is giving way to a tighter savings strategy — buyers are consciously cutting back on physical consumption," the expert said.       The "share of free money" indicator is calculated monthly based on ROMIR's Consumer Panel, which includes consumption data from 40,000 Russians from 15,000 households in more than 400 cities and localities across the country.
