Sokolov reproached Kirov residents who complained about transport for being emotional.

Sokolov reproached Kirov residents who complained about transport for being emotional.

Yesterday, during a live Q&A with Governor Alexander Sokolov, a question from social media was read out. People wrote that in the evenings at Chistye Prudy it is impossible to catch the No. 12 bus. Because of this they cannot get to the city center and attend interesting evening events. And taxis in Kirov, they said, are more expensive than in Moscow.

Sokolov responded to the post with an irony surprising for someone in his position. "Apparently the situation hit people hard if they express themselves so emotionally, especially about taxis," he said. And he asked the director to find out how much it costs to travel 5–6 kilometers in Kirov and in Moscow.

Sokolov went on to add that he understands the carrier — that making evening runs may be economically unprofitable for them. However, contracts are contracts, and those runs must be carried out, so the governor ordered the administration to punish those who do not do so.

After that Sokolov was informed that a trip in Kirov costs 280 rubles, and in Moscow — 750. He, laughing, exclaimed: "Three times more expensive!" It should be noted that the difference is actually 2.6 times, not three, but there is nothing to be surprised about — as we have noted, government officials often round numbers in their favor, even when they fall well short of a whole number.
