"Kirov is flooded again": water is gushing from under the asphalt in the city center.
On Lenin Street — on the stretch from Molodaya Gvardiya to Albert Likhanov (Gorbachev) Street — streams are gushing up from under the asphalt. Water is flowing along the road, washing out the shoulder, flooding parking bays and pedestrian crossings. The photos show that the storm drains are clearly not coping: flows are spreading right under pedestrians' feet and onto the roadway.
This is far from the first time Lenin Street has turned into a natural water body.
We already reported on July 20, 2025, that springs unexpectedly gushed up by the old department store: a stream shot out of the ground, a waterfall formed down the stairs, and the sidewalks and part of the roadway were under water. The sewage theory was dismissed then — eyewitnesses did not notice any particular smell.
And on November 15 residents again complained about the condition of the city center after the snowfall: slush, uncleared sidewalks, a mush underfoot and the absence of snow-clearing equipment. The mayor’s office then insisted that 58 pieces of equipment and nearly a hundred workers had been sent out to the streets, yet Kirov residents did not see them that day.
