More than 70 vehicles were used to clear the overnight snowfall in Kirov.
Overnight into Saturday, contractors responsible for maintaining the street and road network under a municipal contract deployed 58 vehicles and 71 manual snow‑clearing workers. Before the snowfall began, roads and sidewalks were treated with anti‑icing materials to prevent the formation of hard‑packed snow. The snowfall itself, the city administration's press service reported, began in the early morning hours. Specialized machinery continued to spread anti‑icing mixtures and began clearing streets and sidewalks. During the heaviest snowfall the machines worked in convoys. Now, according to the agency, 70 vehicles are already involved in the cleanup. Special attention is being paid to clearing storm drains and grates — the thaw is producing a lot of meltwater. Manual crews are clearing snow at bus stops, approaches to pedestrian crossings, and on stairways. Supervisors from the Directorate for Public Improvement are also working on the streets: they coordinate the contractors' actions and direct equipment to where it is needed most. Residents can report uncleared roads and sidewalks by calling: 76-00-00 and 8-912-827-22-34.
