Sixty fir trees will be installed on Spasskaya and a fair will be held for the New Year.
The administration of the city of Kirov discussed preparations on Spasskaya Pedestrian Street for the New Year. As reported by Alexey Cheptsov, director of the Center for Tourism Development of the Kirov Region, about 60 fir trees will appear there this year — they will be installed by participants in the regional New Year tree competition.
Applications to participate are already coming in, and representatives from the districts and municipalities will begin decorating their trees in the first week of December. According to Cheptsov, the avenue of fir trees will become a symbol of the festive spirit and will show how diverse the corners of the Kirov Region are.
In addition, more than 30 market huts will be installed on Spasskaya, where souvenirs, treats and hot drinks will be sold. The festive program will run from December 6 until the end of February. The street will host concerts, exhibitions and winter activities.
Preparatory work will begin on November 29–30, and the installation of the market huts and lighting will start on December 1. Traffic on Spasskaya may be temporarily restricted on those days, the city administration’s press service said.
It should be noted that the decoration of the city’s streets with light installations for the New Year will begin at the end of this week.
