The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections has decreased in Kirov Oblast.

Monitoring of the prevalence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza continues in Kirov Oblast. According to the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor, following epidemiological week 44 of 2025 the incidence of ARVI among the total population decreased by 9.57% compared with the previous week. The epidemic threshold has not been exceeded, and the situation remains within the seasonal norm.

Specialists note that laboratory monitoring indicates non-influenza viruses are circulating in the region.

Rospotrebnadzor reminds people to observe preventive measures: if symptoms appear, it is recommended to stay home and seek medical care, and to follow hygiene rules — regularly wash hands with soap or use hand sanitizers.

The agency emphasizes that vaccination remains the most effective specific measure of protection against influenza. The optimal time for vaccination is September–November, when virus circulation is minimal and the body has time to develop immunity before a possible rise in incidence.

Vaccination is especially recommended for people in risk groups: children, the elderly, pregnant women, and patients with chronic diseases (including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory diseases).

The vaccination campaign in the region is ongoing. Residents are advised to contact medical facilities in their area.
