This winter, 579 units of equipment will be deployed to clear the region's roads.
The road services of Kirov Region are finalizing preparations for the upcoming winter season. Currently the readiness of equipment at JSC "Vyatavtodor" stands at 75%, and the full completion of re-equipping and additional outfitting of the equipment is planned for November 1, 2025, the press service of the Kirov Region government reported.
This winter 579 units of equipment will enter service, including 184 combination road machines, 90 motor graders, 123 tractors with snow‑clearing equipment, 76 front‑end loaders and 106 other vehicles.
All equipment will be deployed on more than 11,000 kilometers of roads, including 2,600 km of regional routes, 8,900 km of local roads and 113 km of federal roads. Work will be carried out by 39 road sections.
To combat winter slipperiness, 25,000 tons of technical salt, 106,000 tons of sand and 56,000 tons of sand‑salt mixture have been stockpiled. Responsible persons have been appointed to oversee duty shifts to ensure uninterrupted clearing and road safety.
