Residents of the village of Lazarevo in Urzhumsky District are actively undergoing medical check-ups.
According to the government of the Kirov Region, all primary care institutions in the region participate in conducting medical check-ups. High rates in Lazarevo, according to Natalya Loginovskaya, acting chief physician of the Urzhum Central District Hospital, became possible thanks to the coordinated work of the outpatient clinic’s staff, which is fully staffed. The clinic employs a general practitioner, a feldsher, and nurses.
Local doctor Tatyana Tokmanova has been working at the clinic for 33 years. She notes that they know every patient personally, and residents willingly come for examinations.
“We have compiled lists of everyone eligible for medical screenings. We call them, invite them when we meet them, and talk about prevention during appointments. People respond actively — both women and men,” she said.
Mobile units — for fluorography and mammography — regularly visit the village. If the screening results require further intervention, consultations with specialists are promptly arranged for patients.
According to Tatyana Tokmanova, special attention is given to cancer screening — it is preventive measures that make it possible to detect malignant tumors at an early stage, before the disease has manifested.
“Early diagnosis is important: it helps start treatment on time,” the doctor emphasized.
Preventive work is carried out under the federal project “Health for Everyone” of the national project “A Long and Active Life.” Every resident of the Kirov Region aged 18 and over can undergo a medical screening: up to age 39 — once every three years; from age 40 — annually.
