The court forced Pobeda to change its carry-on baggage rules.

In spring, the Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow found Pobeda’s hand-luggage requirements unlawful. The case concerned a substantial reduction in width (to 4 centimeters), which prevented passengers from carrying many items.

The airline itself noted that it had two methods of checking hand-luggage dimensions — it was either pushed into a sizer (36×30×27 centimeters) or measured according to the dimensions of a single hand-luggage allowance (4×36×30 centimeters). And most passengers chose the first option. However, this did not affect the court’s decision.

Recently Pobeda was forced to increase the dimensions of a single hand-luggage allowance to 15×36×30 centimeters. In addition, the weight restriction was removed, and a laptop or tablet in a soft case and an umbrella-cane were added to the list of items that may be taken in addition to hand luggage. As for the dimensions of the bag with duty-free goods, they were increased to 24×32×10 centimeters. The dimensions of the sizer remained unchanged, reports Interfax.ru.
