The Cabinet of Ministers supported a ban on children walking dangerous dogs.

The Russian government approved a bill that bans children under 16 and people under the influence of alcohol or drugs from walking dogs of dangerous breeds. An exception is provided only for walking them on private fenced property.

The initiative was developed by deputies from United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF), the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) and A Just Russia. The document is aimed at increasing safety and strengthening the responsibility of owners of such animals.

The list of potentially dangerous breeds was approved earlier. It includes 12 entries. The list includes Akbash, American Bandog, wolf–dog hybrids, the pit bull mastiff and other breeds, RBC reports.
