A recidivist thief broke into an enterprise in Kirov and stole scrap copper and brass.
On the night of May 3–4 last year, a 44-year-old man from Kirov, acting with an accomplice whose criminal case is being handled as a separately allocated case, illegally broke into a hangar of a commercial organization located on Severo-Sadovaya Street in Kirov. From there he stole scrap copper and brass, as well as power tools valued at 22,000 rubles. The man disposed of the stolen property as he saw fit. It is worth noting that the Kirov resident had previously been convicted for a series of thefts (Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
He was again found guilty under subparagraphs “a” and “b” of part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft with unlawful entry into another storage facility, by a group of persons by prior agreement). The court sentenced the recidivist to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment in a strict-regime corrective colony.
The Kirov resident tried to appeal the sentence to the appellate court, arguing that the punishment was too severe, but his appeal was dismissed. The sentence remained in force.
