Kirov paleontologists found a mammoth tooth

In early August, an expedition was organized by the Paleontological Museum, with press secretary Gerzenka and blogger Alexey Ulyanov participating. He said that scientists spent almost a week in the field in the southeast of the Kirov region:

"Today I returned home after spending almost a week in the field with the Vyatsky Paleontological Museum expedition in the southeast of the Kirov region. This includes the Sunsky, Nolinsky, Urzhumsky, Malmyzhsky, and Vyatskopolyansky districts, with their untouched beauty and treasure trove of fossils from far pre-human eras," Ulyanov wrote on his blog.

During the excavations, paleontologists discovered a mammoth tooth and a part of the jaw of a Pleistocene bear. Additionally, samples of fossilized plants from the Kazan layer of the Permian period were collected on the banks of the Vyatka River in the Urzhum district. The findings have been sent for examination.
