A strong magnetic storm is expected on Friday, August 8, according to RBC, citing the Telegram channel of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory at the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Astronomers report that the solar flare that occurred on August 5 will lead to significantly stronger geomagnetic consequences than previously anticipated. The plasma cloud is expected to reach Earth around 7 a.m. Moscow time. During the "solar strike," the geomagnetic Kp index is expected to rise to 6 — the highest value since June 13.
