Oleg Valenchuk: The road program is changing the lives of Vyatka gardeners

Pobedilovsky Tract is an artery nourishing the lives of dozens of gardening cooperatives in the Kirov region. Its convenient location, relatively short distance from the city, smooth asphalt, and regular public transportation attract tens of thousands of people. Hidden behind green thickets just a few kilometers from the busy highway are hundreds of cozy dacha houses, with histories dating back 30-40 years. At that time, city enterprises provided plots to their employees, which led to the formation of entire clusters of gardeners' non-commercial partnerships (SNT) – each with its own infrastructure features, traditions, chairmen, and... a shared road.

      – We are very grateful to the Union of Gardeners of Russia for their assistance. For always fulfilling all repair requests for roads in our area, – notes Artem Bykov, chairman of SNT "Malinka". – This greatly facilitates access to the plots and improves the quality of life for gardeners.

Summer residents are not only pensioners spending the warmest part of the year in their gardens. Many families come for the weekends, and young people use the dachas as a comfortable place for recreation. Transport accessibility is key to a comfortable life in SNT. Just 15 minutes, and you are on Pobedilovsky Tract, where public transport runs regularly. The new, smooth asphalt road has significantly improved the situation.

However, even having an asphalt highway does not solve all problems. Gravel roads within SNT often pose serious obstacles. It is here, away from the main streets, that the issue of road quality is particularly acute. – The solution to this problem became possible thanks to a comprehensive grading program launched by the Union of Gardeners of Russia back in 2011, – says Oleg Valenchuk. – And today, we see the results of these efforts. The successes of the grading program are not just an improvement of infrastructure. They are a contribution to the country's food security and an investment in providing the population with quality products.

In SNTs along Pobedilovsky Tract, with over 40 cooperatives, work is in full swing. Here, the grader will repair about 100 kilometers of gravel roads. Overall, during this season, the Union of Gardeners' grader will put in order over 500 km of access roads to SNTs.
