Kirov residents choose rent instead of a mortgage

According to the study, only 28% of economically active Kirov residents are confident that it is more profitable to take out a mortgage than to rent a house. Most often, this choice is explained by the fact that "it is better to pay for your own," but they emphasize that a mortgage is an option only for those who have a stable and sufficient income.

More supporters of rent — 39%. They consider mortgages too risky: in conditions of high interest rates and an unstable labor market, few people decide to take out a loan for decades. "You're working today, and tomorrow, no one knows what's going to happen," the respondents say.

Another 33% of respondents could not decide on a choice.

Interestingly, women are more likely than men to consider a mortgage a more profitable solution. The highest percentage of mortgage supporters are in the age group from 35 to 45 years (35%). There are only 19% of such people among young people, but it is young people who are more likely to advocate rent than others — 41% of respondents under the age of 35 answered this way.

Income level also affects attitudes towards housing. Among Kirov residents earning more than 100 thousand rubles, 46% prefer rent. Those whose income does not exceed 50 thousand are more likely to favor a mortgage — 34%.

Among professional market participants, realtors, the opinion is generally different: 61% of them are sure that it is more profitable to buy an apartment with a mortgage than to rent.
