48-year-old Sergey Kudryavtsev became the acting head of the Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for Bashkortostan, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan reports. The candidacy of the new head of the staff was presented by the Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Lieutenant General Alexander Matveenko. According to him, Kudryavtsev's professional and life experience will ensure the effective work of the regional department.
Sergey Kudryavtsev was born in December 1976 in the city of Yaransk, Kirov region. Graduated from the Ryazan Institute of Law and Economics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. He has been serving in the FSIN since 1998. Until recently, he headed the Department of Service in the Republic of Buryatia, which he was appointed head of in June 2021.
The appointment of the new chief is connected with the criminal case against the previous head of the Federal Penitentiary Service for Bashkiria, Vladislav Dzyuba. He was detained in April 2025 on suspicion of abuse of office. According to investigators, he demanded to collect 3.4 million rubles from subordinates — part of the employee bonuses — allegedly for the representative needs of the institution. Dzyuba pleaded guilty and is now under house arrest. Earlier, two more of his subordinates were detained.
