Villagers in Kirov get home through a plowed field

The village of Studenets is located within Kirov, but it is extremely difficult to get there. There is no normal road leading to the settlement, there are not even signs. The only reference point is a dumpster set up in front of the field. Behind it, in the distance, you can see a gas distribution point and a sign with the name of the village.

Local residents are forced to get to their homes and back to the city through a plowed field, which is sown with wheat. During the summer and winter months, it is still possible to drive, but in spring and autumn the road becomes impassable. Even SUVs get stuck in deep ruts. Last year, a fire truck stalled here, which was in a hurry to extinguish the fire.

Olga Devyatyarova, a resident of the village, told the activists of the Popular Front about the serious problems faced by the locals. Sometimes she can't take her child to school because of the bad road. The ambulance refuses to respond to calls, citing the lack of proper travel.

During the muddy weather, people often leave their cars on the asphalt road and walk across the field to the village. A suspension bridge over the Bystrica River helps to get there. Residents go shopping in the neighboring village of Strizhi.

Local residents would like to receive a piece of land for the construction of a road. They are ready to make a stop so that the roadway is less washed out during the rains. But for now, they have to drive through a field that belongs to an agricultural company.

Residents have repeatedly met with representatives of the territorial administration in the Oktyabrsky district. Officials promised to take action, but the situation remains the same. As a result, people contacted the Russian president directly. The activists of the Popular Front took control of the problem.

The city administration promised to conduct grading in the near future. However, activists consider this a half-measure. The head of the regional branch of the Popular Front, Valeria Cheremisinova, noted that it was unclear what exactly to grade if the section for the road was not determined. She stressed that there should be a normal road leading to any settlement, along which medics and firefighters can travel in case of an emergency. An appeal has been sent to the prosecutor's office on this issue.
