Sokolov promised a swimming pool to residents of Slobodsky

      At a personal reception of citizens, the Governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov, was asked about the construction of a swimming pool in Slobodskoye. Valentina Kostyleva, an orienteering coach at the Slobodsky sports school, said that she moved to Slobodskaya in 1965, and since then she has dreamed of swimming in the pool. "The children are weak now, and the water is hardening them. The request from all residents is to get the go-ahead for the construction of a swimming pool," Slobozhanka said.

      The governor said that a lot of attention is paid to the issue of teaching children to swim. According to the head of the region, the Ministry of Sports is currently preparing design estimates for the construction of a swimming pool in Slobodskoye. The location for the future swimming pool has been determined — next to the new children's clinic. The pool project includes six swimming lanes for 25 meters, and a children's bowl for early swimming. "We have entered the State Program and have confirmed the financing from the federal budget. We plan to start construction next year. And in 2027, a new sports facility will be opened," Sokolov said.
