
Experts: Russians traveled 40% more in May
The number of trips within the country during the May holidays increased by 40% compared to last year. The most popular destinations are St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Sochi, Kislovodsk, Kaliningrad, as well as Minsk and Brest, according to analysts of the daily accommodation booking service.
"From May 1 to May 11, hotel turnover increased by 36%, the number of bookings increased by 20% compared to a year ago, and the average check increased by 14% to 14,724 rubles," the experts noted.
On average, tourists traveled for four days and spent 21,880 rubles on rental housing. The largest number of bookings occurred on May 1st and 8th. According to analysts, the average rental rate in Russia as a whole for the May holidays was 5,470 rubles per day. In Moscow, tourists rented housing at an average price of 5,790 rubles per day, in St. Petersburg - 5,580 rubles per day, in Sochi — 5,120 rubles, in Kazan - 6 thousand 230 rubles, in Nizhny Novgorod - 6 thousand 380 rubles, in Kislovodsk - 4 thousand 870 in Kaliningrad for 4,320 rubles, in Volgograd for 6,610 rubles, in Minsk — 8,210 rubles and in Brest — 7,820 rubles per day.
