Kirov pensioners were attacked by fraudsters during the May holidays

Remote fraudsters called Kirov pensioners on landlines, gained trust and forced citizens to transfer their savings to couriers. For example, in one case, unknown persons presented themselves as employees of the tax authorities and demanded that the money be handed over to a fake collector, who allegedly had to deliver it to the inspectorate to verify the series and numbers of the bills. In another case, the "military commander" asked to transfer the money to the courier under the pretext that the pensioner's funds had not been declared. By the way, the damage amounts are significant — from 85 thousand rubles to 1.5 million rubles.

In some cases, even citizens acted as couriers, transferring the money they received to the following intermediaries. Taxi drivers were sent to the apartments at the addresses of the victims. In at least four cases, taxi drivers refused to participate in questionable schemes and explained to pensioners that they were being deceived.

At the same time, the police identified several people who acted as couriers. Among them, a man from other cities was detained, who came to the city to receive money from Kirov pensioners and transfer it to the organizers of the fraud.

Criminal cases have been initiated. At the moment, operational search activities and investigative actions are underway. Residents of the region are urged to be as vigilant as possible when communicating by phone.
