More than 150 representatives of the older generation took part in the competition. Together with the veterans, poems dedicated to the Great Patriotic War were read by their grandchildren. At the initiative of the deputy, special gifts and congratulations were presented to the oldest participants of the project – those who turned over 90 years old.

Rahim Azimov conveyed congratulations and gratitude to the audience, noting the invaluable contribution of veterans to the preservation of the historical memory and heroic heritage of the country.

"You, who were born during the war and in the post–war period, are a living link between the generation of winners and modern youth. Your wisdom, perseverance and invaluable life experience preserve the truth about the feat, teach us honor, courage and valor. These values are a moral guideline for all of us. The "Poetry recited by veterans" contest is proof of this. It turned out to be truly heartfelt and touching, reminding everyone at what price our common Victory was won," the deputy emphasized in his welcoming remarks.

Rahim Azimov also congratulated all the veteran organizations of his district on the upcoming Victory Day.

Irina Shubina, chairman of the regional veterans organization, noted Rahim Azimov's contribution to the development of the veteran movement in the region and thanked the deputy for his sincere concern for the older generation, long-term cooperation and support for important initiatives.

"Rahim Azizboevich and I have been friends for many years. He and his team are always actively involved in the work of regional and district veterans' organizations, invariably providing assistance and support. This year, our joint project "Poetry is read by veterans" has become a real decoration and has taken a special place among the events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," Shubina emphasized.
