The Konev – Marshal of Victory project team has won a grant from the Movement of the First

In 2006, on the initiative of State Duma deputy Oleg Valenchuk, a museum dedicated to the life and exploits of our countryman Marshal Ivan Stepanovich Konev opened its doors in Kirov. A museum is not just a collection of exhibits, it is a living organism that is constantly evolving and inspiring new generations to study history. The recent reconstruction of the museum and the opening of a School for Young Guides based on the Inspiration Children's Art House have become a new step in the development of this project.

The guys who were trained at the School of Young Guides now conduct guided tours for their peers themselves, telling about the life and military path of Marshal Konev. And these are not just memorized facts from textbooks. The students had a unique opportunity to communicate directly with the Marshal's daughter, Natalia Koneva, and his granddaughter, Elena Koneva. Through video calls and face–to-face meetings in Kirov, the young guides learned many details unknown to a wide audience from the life of the outstanding commander - stories that cannot be found in textbooks.

"It's a big difference whether you study history at school or learn the truth about the war here," says Lyudmila Buzmakova, head teacher of School No. 60. – The atmosphere of the museum, full of history and personal memories, significantly increases the involvement of children in the educational process.

The other day, another good news came – the project "School of young guides "Heirs of Victory" became one of the winners of the grant competition of the Movement of the First. A record number of applications were submitted for it — 5,567 from 89 regions of Russia. However, only 513 projects received support. The primary branch of the Movement of the First DDT "Inspiration" received a high 18th place in terms of application points. The grant funds will be used to organize a summer camp and purchase uniforms for young guides. It is also planned to visit the I.S. Konev House Museum, located in the village of Lodeynoye, Podosinovsky district, and continue exciting interactive excursions.

"The Konev – Marshal of Victory project has no time limits," Oleg Valenchuk, the initiator of the museum's creation, State Duma deputy, is convinced. – After all, this is a tribute to the memory of an outstanding countryman and our common contribution to the preservation of historical truth. Through studying the history and life path of Ivan Stepanovich Konev, young people will be able to understand the value of concepts such as pride in their country, devotion to the Motherland, and realize their role in the future of Russia. I sincerely congratulate the entire project team on a new victory, always be the First! I would especially like to mention the project manager, Tatiana Ivanovna Nikolaenko. She made an invaluable contribution to the development of the museum and the preparation of the project concept. Winning the grant competition is not only a recognition of our joint efforts, but also an opportunity to realize important and meaningful ideas.
