      As part of the national project "Environmental well-being" in the Kirov region, active work is underway to eliminate old village landfills at the expense of the regional budget. The customers of the works are local governments.

      The municipalities have set deadlines for the completion of the work. Thus, contracts for the disposal of landfills must be concluded by April 1, and work must be completed this year. Preliminary surveys of land plots have already been conducted in some areas, as well as the necessary types of work have been planned and estimates have been drawn up. In total, it is planned to eliminate 6 landfills with a total area of 7 hectares, according to the regional government.

      The chemical state of the soil will be analyzed in the cleared area. Only after receiving positive results will it be possible to say that the landfill has been eliminated and the site is ready for further use. The Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Kirov region added that they will regularly inform citizens about the progress of work on the elimination of landfills.
